What this is, plainly
Here's exactly what this is, and what it isn't.
What this is
Light housekeeping and companionship for someone who could use a hand around the home, or simply enjoys the company. That might mean a tidy-up, help with laundry, a shared cup of tea and a chat, or picking up a prescription on the way. It's the kind of help a family member would give if they lived closer or had more time.
What this isn't
This is not medical or clinical care, and we're not a substitute for one. We keep strictly to light housekeeping and companionship, nothing that calls for clinical training or judgement. If a family's needs go further than that, we'll say so plainly and point toward the right kind of support instead.
What a visit could include
It looks different for every family, and that's the point.
A tidy-up and light housekeeping
Keeping the home comfortable, without it becoming a chore for the family.
A hand with laundry
Washing, folding, and putting away, done regularly so it never piles up.
Company and a chat
A cup of tea and some conversation, for the days that are quieter than others.
Picking up a prescription
Collected on the way, one less thing to arrange around a busy week.

A conversation first, nothing else.
Get in touch and we'll talk through what would actually help, with no pressure to commit to anything. Some families want a regular weekly visit, others want something occasional. There's no minimum and no obligation to continue if it's not the right fit.
If things change, we'll say so plainly.
Needs can grow over time. If a visit starts to call for something beyond light housekeeping and companionship, we won't quietly carry on regardless. We'll tell the family directly what we're seeing and point toward the kind of support that would actually help, whether that's a carer, a district nurse, or another service better suited to it.
That boundary is there to keep everyone safe, including the person we're visiting. It's not a reason to worry, just something we'd rather you knew from the start.
Questions
Good to know.
No. Home Support is non-medical: light housekeeping and companionship, nothing that calls for clinical training or judgement. If a family needs that kind of support, we'll say so and won't take on a job outside what we're set up for.
It depends what would help. Some visits are mostly housekeeping, others are more about company and conversation. Tell us what's needed and we'll agree what a visit looks like before anything starts.
Yes, collecting a prescription is something we can help with. Managing medication itself isn't something we do.
No. Some families want a regular visit, others want something occasional. There's no minimum and no obligation to continue.
Anyone who could use a hand around the home or some regular company, most often an elderly relative. Families often get in touch on a parent's behalf, which is completely normal.
